Making plans for upgrading... What do you guys think?

My Evo is currently stock right now but I an planning to upgrade it in the near future... So far these are my plans:

Greddy Comp. TI-C exhaust (3" Turboback)
ETS licp
Intake
Tune at English Racing

Pretty basic modifications. I heard that the upper intercooler pipe doesn't really give you any gains... Also, what intake would you recommend for the stock turbo (Evo 9 btw)? I've been thinking about the ETS intake.

I AM TALKING ABOUT AN EVO 9.
Anybody with similar setups or anybody that can tell me what approximate gains I should expect?? Torque and hp (whp)
Thank you.

Ah, I see.
Well, he is the ideal person to get a reply from on just about any thread, so, if you want him to tune your car I'd contact him directly rather than getting yourself confused with the 1,000,000 different opinions you're going to get as a result from a thread like this.

You do not need an intake. I would recommend a manual boost controller, like hallman, and a walbro 255 fuel pump instead of an intake. If u want an intake the perrin is a pretty good one but a simple cone filter would do you just fine.

Leave that part up to the professionals. Aaron at English Racing will hook you up with a kick *** tune. I would guess somewhere around 22 -23psi safely untill you upgrade the stock intercooler.

+1 My first upgrades were a 3"tbe, Walbro 255 and Hallman mbc, with a 9 turbo and 9 motor I made 360whp/360tq at 27psi

Run a test pipe and maybe get some injectors? Nothing crazy. Just like 880cc or around there. A boost controller should be top on your list. They are reasonably priced.

If you really want an intake, there are a few for sale in the used section. Yeah the UICP is just for looks mainly. ETS has a great LICP design.

Before you tune, do a boost leak and regular maintenance. Making sure your car is all buttoned up will gain you more hp and a more accurate tune.

If all else fails, ask Aaron!

Upgrades look good, but it depends on your other supporting mods. i would definitely talk with Aaron. We can get any of our parts to English Racing in a couple of days.

Thanks!

Michael
