Complete ACD removal off 05?

Is it possible to remove all the ACD components in my 05 without causing any issues? I know the ecu wont throw codes for it not being plugged in but im mainly concerned about leaking or the xfercase issues? Anyone removed the acd pump & lines?

Just did a read up, looks like I might as well just wait to remove all this weigh until i can get a non ACD pump.

Wanted to just cap it off but someone said it doesnt work proper.

nope you don't have to do that.

You need the following from a NON ACD T case:

Viscous coupling
Half of the carrier (the side that the vicsous bolts to)
T case Cover

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Do must people that have an 05 or evo 9 do this to there T-case? Or do they just leave it alone?

If you can afford downtime on your Evo then I highly recommend sending in your tcase to be transformed to Evo 8 tcase.

I bought a used whining tcase because I cant afford any down time on my daily driver and I have spent way more than I though I would.

-Evo VIII RS T-case $350 . Owner said it is whining, but didnt tell me the LSD is cracked as well. PM'd them to let them know, responded with " Sorry I never opened it to know its condition", translation its your (buyer's) problem now.

I just went with Sheptrans to rebuild it for me:
-Rebuild ring and pinion stage 1 $975
-Wavetrac LSD $895
-Ship to have it rebuilt $45
-Return shipping $60

Total spent around: 2325.00

Some time in a week or two I'm gonna start the swap. Do you think I'm going to get my money back? I'm not a greedy person but here is what I will be asking for my stuff which are in excellent condition without any surprises:

Evo 9 tcase : 700 + shipping
ACD pump : 300 + shipping
ACD ecu : obo
ACD lines etc.. : obo

So I might get about 1000 back. But I lost 1350 just because I dont have an extra car to have converted my existing Evo 9 tcase to Evo 8 non ACD.

Here is what TRE quoted me for conversion:
Transfer case tune-up is $425. The services are listed on the site, http://www.teamrip.com/EVO_TRANSFER_CASE_SERVICES.html

The cost to swap your ACD unit over to a Viscous coupling style housing is $185 or we can trade your ACD section for the $185 worth of parts.

Let me know if you have more questions.
Jon

Also to answer some of your questions:

-You wont throw a emissions code for removing the ACD system. (at least from what I read in previous ACD removal threads in the past)

-You may not just unplug/cap and drive around like that. The ACD system will act as a open diff, also pro longed driving like that from what I read may burn up the ACD clutch disks.
