Speedometer stopped working, no check engine light
Well i just finshed a clutch install friday. Saturday morning we drove out to a car, it was about 140 miles tound trip . Flawless everything was working fine. After i got home and left again my speedometer and tripometer werent working. Also my service engine light was on but the car was driving fine. I checked the vss plug and its still plugged in. There is no cel's. Coukd my vss have went bad randomly and not thrown a cel? Any ideas?

This is what I was just coming here to post, I would bet that it is somehow related to the clutch work you just did

Yeah the rpm gauge is still working. I'm going to pull the vss out when i get home from work and see if somehow it got damaged. Just seems weird it was fine for 130+ miles after the install..

Im hoping that somehow that tranny doesnt have the same vss as an MR does. The reason i say that is because the MR's have a hall effect type vss instead of a gear driven vss like the 5spd cars do. If your vss isnt working it may be because either the vss plug came undone, or the tranny harness plug wasnt fully seated after the clutch install. Also please verify that the vss itself is fully bolted down and it may be a pain in the *** but put that little metal clip back in the vss plug if its not there.
