Does it tick like that all the time? My lifters tick on occasion...but not like that and I have HKS 272/264 cams.

How many miles on your evo? Oil level OK?

Maybe run a can of SeaFoam thru the gas tank and some through your head...might help.

Sounds alright aside from that....from what I can tell off your video.

I would play it safe and take it to a shop if you are truly concerned.

im using mobil 1 10-30 i just recently changed the oil and yes it ticked on the old oil change too. it ticks a lot sometimes then sometimes it dosent, its humid and getting really hot over here if that has anything to do with it but heres 2 more vids. im mainly checking for things like crankwalk and knocking or anything else that sounds bad.

i want to say it sounds alright but that ticking is a lot louder than mine and I have loud injectors and bigger cams.. sometimes the pcv valve can tick loudly try to listen closely to that area or grab it tightly and see if any of the ticking stops

not a big deal, i think it is like $17 at the dealer. its just a check valve. if you dont know its the 90 degree bend piece threaded into the back left of your valve cover with a vacuum line going to it. not saying that is your problem but just something to check out

well your best bet to diagnose is, get a stethoscope and go in like 8 different places on top of the valve cover with it idling find out where in the head its makin that chattering noise. Could be lifters? hopefully....but at least a stethoscope test will rule out if the noise is coming from the head area. They could be lifters that are startin to go bad? How many miles on the engine?

Sounds like you need to take the head off and have a machine shop do a valve job and let them get all the tolerances back to spec.

I put marvel mystery oil in i think its quieting down, im going to keep driving hopefully it will clean the lifters and everything else. These motors are known to tick everyones telling me to calm down and just drive.
