Choosing a aftermarket Exhaust Header

Hey fellow evo dudes:-) I'm looking at buying a Borla tubular ceramic coated exhaust header. My old one has started to crack at the welds and don't have mandrel bends. It's old and needs replaced. I have looked around and man can they can cost some moola. What have you guys bought and installed? And does anyone use Borla?
Thanks Dave

I would stick with the proven stuff like ToxicFab, ETS, MAP, AMS, JMFab, etc. You shouldn't have to look past those brands I just mentioned to find a quality piece. Search in the classifieds for a used manifold if you're on a budget.

Agreed, if you cheap out, your just going to get more cracking. Also the ceramic coating is just going to start peeling and chipping. This is why AMS does not coat there Manifolds, they have tried it all. Wrap it if anything.

Unfortunately all of the aftermarket stuff went early on.

Do you have a stock turbo setup?

If so, get a stock manifold and send it to Curt Brown for porting. Cheap and very effective .

No I don't. I believe turbo is located where stock one is tho. But not for sure on that.

Personally, I'd either go with a MAP ported stock manifold or a ToxicFab stock replacement manifold. I've heard of Borla, mainly from the Honda community though. I'd stick with proven parts, not just something that is cost efficient. The Borla manifold was $651.XX and it cracked, bummer. Yes, some tubular manifolds do flow better, but if you're still running a stock turbo with minimal mods, I'd save some money and get the stocker ported.

No i have lots of mods and bigger turbo but I didn't do exhaust it came that way. Just wanted info for what is out there and just found Borla on Internet and price seems good but I also believe you get what you pay for. I'm seriously looking at Toxicfab. Those look wicked and really looks like the welds are awesome. He really knows how to make metal flow:-)

full-race if you want the best money can buy and something that wont crack or break on you. And if you don't want to spend that kind of money just run a stock one
