If it's leaking with the axle all the way seated, just replace the seal. I just run a small sheet metal screw into the seal and pull with pliers. I've installed them with a socket, however you're supposed to use an install tool which keeps the seal perpendicular to the bore.

^^^you drove a sheet metal screw throught the seal and pulled with pliers?
So I should be able to pull the rubber seal out, without removing the output shaft?
can't pull the darn seal out. My slide hammer rented from advanced auto is to large to fit behind the seal due to output shaft in the way.
anyone have tips to pull this seal out?

When installing any axle with a clip on the end I believe the correct way is to have the opening of the clip facing down when installing the exle.....to make the clip compress and then expand when it gets inside easier

got it fixed!
Need to remove 2 strut bolts. Stabilizer bar bolt, and drop lower arm all the way down. I used a 1 1/4" pvc coupler to tap the seal in with a hammer. Took a few tries to get it in evenly. I put RTV on outside of seal but if you dont line the seal up evenly the first time, the rtv comes off anyway. So next time, i wont add rtv. Put transmission end of drive shaft in and use other end outside of hub as slide hammer to hammer in. Have c-clip with open end facing down. I rotated the axle so the space/recess inside the axle faces up, not sure if it matters. Don’t forget to refill tranny fluid have car level or front higher.
Some Torque values
Lower arm to knuckle 80+-7 ft lb
19 +-3 ft lb steering arm to knuckle tie rod
80+-7 ft lb two bolts holding brake caliper onto hub
29+-3 ft lb stabilizer bar bolt to lower arm
167+-21 ft lb castle/axle nut
123+-7 ft lb two bolts strut to hub
