A TH400 would work if I wanted a RWD, but I don't.

The 1G AWD's, the drag car we were building is still at the paint shop, not done. Then I picked up a maroon 1g just to have a DSM and after deciding to just unplug the knock sensor to fix the car, it ran a 10.8 at 127 mph. I have some work to do to that car as I want it to run a 9 second pass and then I want to sell it. I may just put it up for sale first but I'd like to get it to run "right" first.

Winning a race from 40-140? Well I don't know if the auto is quicker or the 5 speed. I know we've never come close to a 9.55 ET at 143 mph, so it is much quicker vs. MPH with a 5 speed but the MPH is way down from where it was. Of course we haven't run it to it's potential yet either.

Thanks wasn't sure if it would work with AWD or not. What'd you use on the old drag car? I believe it was converted to RWD.

Awesome, assuming the non-stock trans internals you already have hold up how many of these do you think you could produce before say... TX2k13 in March?

I'd really like to get one, and get a Buschur Double pumper, bigger fuel feed and an E98 tune before that event.

Got the trans out today and found the problem. Very minor issue, NO broken hard parts and NO friction problems. We had a pump failure, so we will figure out how to fix that, which should be easy as I think the converter was built with too little clearance. I should have the converter back Thursday, I overnighted it, hope to have the car up and running Friday night again and maybe hit the track again!

One 8 second pass is what I want then the mission this car has been on will be done.

I'd guess the MPH is going to go way up with this fix a the converter/pump had to be going on the 9.55 run.

That's great news!

After you do the first 8 sec passes are you planning to push this transmission on a more powerful combo / dedicated drag car?

You could potentially have the solution for a world record beating setup fairly easy!

Congrats again and can't wait for the 1st 8 sec pass!

autos trap lower than 5 speed cars. I did some calculations for stock converters trapping 125-127. from rpm, gear ratios, and tire size, they should trap 135. so stock converter slips 8-10mph at that power level through a tight stock converter.

I would think the car will be trapping at least 10mph down from where it was on the 5 speed.
