BR Clutchless 4 speed in the 9's and M&H Slick update thread

Very impressive. This is certainly a game changer. Those passes gave me hard ons. Im amazed at how fast the car gets up on the converter. And at how smooth the car is leaving. It leaves so smooth it doesnt even look right in an evo. Its only a matter of time before the mph/ et gap gets.closed for evos. And guys can build drag evos without replacing clutches, trannys, axles and other drivetrain parts. Congrats on the epic win

david did you get the pump issue resolved yet? what is next for the project?
i remember you saying you had friction disks made and a bunch of other stuff beefed up. i then recall you saying you may think most of that is not needed ''or at least this trans is holding up well'' my question here is can we still get these options for that ''overbuilt'' insurance?

Thanks, we do seem to have hit the converter close to perfection very quickly. Now to get the 1g stuff to work that well. There is no two step, as you can hear, I don't have the speed sensor hooked back up in the car yet, so we are just foot braking the car to the desired RPM. No power brakes either and the car holds 4,000 rpm with no problems at all. The slippage up top seems to be very-very good too. I'm guessing in the 10% range if I had to guess.

The car certainly does leave smooth, that 9.55 pass was a 1.39 sixty foot, the BEST 60' time the car has ever run and on a set of brand new slicks, no burn out, guessed on tire pressure AND Kevin pedaled it in 1st also cause he said it was spinning. The smoothness of the launch is what amazes me. No more bouncing around, it's just smooth as glass. I'd guess the 60's will easily be in the mid 1.30's without much effort. This is also on the 17" slicks with all the stock Brembo's on the car.
The gearbox is confidential.
Dan, the stronger parts we built were for the original trans we had in the car. This one has had nothing stronger built for it yet, just the machine work to make it actually work for us in the EVO. The first 9.90 pass was with the line pressure set at stock levels too. We turned that up for the 9.55 pass. The trans has been apart for a week or so now, Dave started putting it back together and found another issue........sadly......but also directly related to the pump issue, we think. We are having some new stuff machined right now and I expected it back yesterday. The converter should be back today. I'd guess next week it will be back at the track.
We rebuilt the rear trans mount yesterday too, to allow for more clearance for the T-case, it's very tight. Mine was hitting the cross member when the car would drop into gear and occasionally on the road. We added another 1/4" of clearance. That was dropped off at the CNC shop yesterday to have duplicated, 10 of them. Also a bushing we had to make was dropped off. When it goes back together we have to double check the custom mount we built on the battery side, if it still fits (and I pray it does cause it was a complete ***** to build) then I have to send that to Torque Solutions to have it copied and produced.
The kits will come 100% complete and ready to bolt in. It will be just a matter of taking your manual trans, slave cylinder, clutch pedal out and then replacing everything with the bolt in kit we sent. No drilling, welding or anything else will be required.
I made a new shifter mount yesterday that is just fantastic. Took me three attempts and quite a bit of cussing but the end product is unreal. You have to have a really sharp eye to even figure out the car is no longer a 5 speed now.

I cant believe how smooth the car gets out. Definetly no bouncing around or anything. I saw this pass at the Shootout and it was awesome to see in person. I do like driving the 5 speed but i hate dealing with lock out issues and all that stuff that comes with these cars and stock trannys. Might look into this kit for next season

It seems that we could actually see 1.2 sec 60 fts much easier now...
I wont be surprised to see the first EVO 8-9 in the 7s because of the BR Auto!!!
For example if STM puts this tranny on their Drag RS... Just imagine!

The descriptions before almost make it sound like this would be good even for cars not drag raced.
