Initially, I zip-tied a clear tube to the bleed valve and ran it up to the master cylinder. I then began slowly pumping fluid and adding more as necessary until the entire tube was filled and no bubbles were coming up. It seemed like it took 100 strokes to get there. After that, I tightened the valve and pressurized the system. I had my wife slowly push the pedal in and hold it while I cracked the valve open and watched for bubbles. I did that about 5 times and only saw bubbles the first time. After a couple times driving, I repeated this again and only saw a 2 or 3 micro bubbles. It seems to be good now.

I have a small vacuum pump and I pumped it 10 million times and couldn't find a way to keep from pulling air in. I could never tell if I actually had all the air out of the system. I put teflon on the bleeder threads, silicone grease, and tried several types of hoses. It seemed to move significantly more fluid from the pedal.
