Problems with Greddy Profec B Spec I
For the Greddy Profec B (the first one, not the new spec II)
this is how I set it up
Turbo Compressor to IN(also tried the opposite)
Wastegate to OUT )also tired the opposite.
I plugged both ports on the Boost Solenoid.
I also plugged the MAF vaccuum tube.
I have balance set right in the middle.
No matter how low I set it, it keeps wanting to boost 1.5 bar and beyond. Then it just cuts boost(or fuel?) and the car jolts extremely hard. And the CEL comes on.
The thing is, even if it only gets to maybe 20 psi, it will still do it.
Looking at the Greddy instructions, it says to CAP off the nipple on the compressor of the turbo...
And run one line to the wastegate, and one to a Vacuum source on the Intake Manifold.
But after reading a few threads here, I was told to run it from the wastegate to EBC, and compressor to EBC... are these directions specificaly for the Newer model? I understand the newer model has a NO port and COM port... the model I have has a IN port and OUT port...
on my previous car, I had an external wastegate, so I just capped the turbo off, and ran a line from the wastegate to the EBC motor, and a line from the Intake Manifold to the EBC motor. It worked fine, but that was on a civic... which doesn't have a factory boost solenoid.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I routed it up
wastegate to IN
intake manifold to OUT
capped off compressor
capped off MAF pipe
capped off boost solenoid
and it wouldn't work. but then I realized I'm a moron.
The Civic ran an external wastegate, the Evo's an internal.
And on the Greddy Profec B Spec 1, there is are switches on the back of the unit. I had left it on External Wastegate.
Yay, I'm a genius.

(In) from the intake (before the turbo)
(out) from the wastgate
then just cap off the lines that come from the "T"
check the 4 little pins on the back of the boost controller. Make sure they are set for a internal wastgate. there are two pin setting for an internal wastgate. This is all in the manual. If you don't have the manual let me know and I can give you the correct settings.
