Flow data I have from four independent sources reveal that with a factory ports, once the intake valve is 10mm off its seat, it approaches 99% of its flow potential. The same point is reached by 9mm on the exhaust side. That being evident and all else being equal, ramp profiles and effective duration would represent the most significant differences.

The thing to keep in mind is not all Evo heads are created equal even when stock. Some are even worse than that I am sure.

I'm running some of Greg (GSC's) Jun272 replicas, and have been tossing around the idea of S3's.. just not sure yet as the powerband is pretty nice on the street with these.
side note: If my car trapped what yours does, I wouldn't change anything either

just out of curiosity what was done to the cylinder head, was it ported mildly something more aggressive? Also, do you recall what happened to the powerband, as far as where the power was gained and was there any losses at certain rpm?

Stock head, no porting, supertech single springs, and stock valves... S2s picked up horsepower up top with the 2.4L
