Turbo Color

Hey everyone
So I was looking at my friends engine and all that and I noticed his turbo now looks brown and rusty which is weird because he said hes never had a problem with it yet... Im just wondering how does that happen, could it cause any problems, and what could be done to prevent it because I know I dont want my turbo looking like that either lol

The extremely high exhaust temps and moisture in the air will rust the turbine housing, most of the turbos are like that. What you can do is ceramic coated.
