aem cam gear slipped! help

Only the exhaust, it went fully retarded after a wot pull, or during, who knows. I only noticed because when i went to change the timing belt I saw that it was retarded all the way. Still sounded and drove fine when I parked it, but i wasnt far from home either. Would this of caused any significant damage or thrown the timing off enough to bend the valves? Ive never had adjustable cam gears so I'm not to sure, any info is appreciated...

If you are running fine, you should be good.

If you bent valves, you have a skip/ or a miss. The car would be acting up some how.

If you are really worried about it, run a quick compression test and/or leak down test.

Reset you gear, lock it down. Be done.

If you have the belt off, pop off the VC, pull the cams out, and do the leakdown test.

That will let you know if you bent any valves, you will hear the air come out the exhaust.

to anyone else, although I've never removed the cams simply to do a leakdown test, just put each cylinder at tdc...

Why would you pull the cams to do a leakdown? At most pull the vc and verify the cam lobes are full closed.

With the timing belt off, it is what maybe 30 mins more work to R&R cams. This way you know the valves are closed.

I do not know your skill set, my suggestion is only made to keep it a basic as possiable. If you can run a leak down with the cams in, Great!
