Tomei 260 vs HKS 272 vs GSC S1 on stock
I'm considering between these cam to be use in my car.
I've been searched and found that a lot ppl recommend GSC S2 but for now I can't afford the springs and retainers but S1 can use stock.
For Tomei, I can't find much info about them. And for HKS, I've looked at the AMS cam test topic and found that it gives quick spool and no bottom end loss. So which one gives the greatest gain?
FYI, my car is 8MR and it's completely STOCK except the HKS silent hi-power catback.
I'd like to have rough idle.
Please help me on this.
THANKS!!

I also need cams w/stock turbo, did some research (not extensive) As result, I decide to go with S1s. Anything with a higher angle won't be of much benefit with a stock turbo, plus, with the S1, I don't have to replace valve springs/retainers. The HKS are good cams, but not enough to justify the extra cost.
You won't get a rough idle with anything less than 272, but you could attempt doing that through ECU tuning.

I use Tomei 260's. Quite smooth idle but with cam gears you can increase overlap to induce the rough idle if that's what you want (I do not like rough idle/stalling problems but you might). Gains in spool, gains in midrange, and added significant torque higher in the rev range all the way to redline. Some nice power gains everywhere too.
The stock head ports can't flow any more than ~10.5mm lift on the intake and ~10mm lift on the exhaust, so gains with cams/different cams are mostly from duration over 1mm lift. The Tomei 260's are quite aggressive for low duration cams with duration at 1mm: I = 215.5 / E = 214.5. The HKS 272's duration at 1mm: I = 214 / E = 214
If you want rough idle out of the box, HKS 272's will do it, the S1's will do it but not so much, and the S2's idle quite rough.

For S2's, do i need to change sprocket? I do search and read in the forum and found out that S2's is better everywhere. So that means no loss in low end and spool, right? I probably go for S2's by now.
Please help!!
