Replacing the battery with a smaller one to fit a custom intercooler pipe

Does anyone know where to get a smaller battery so I can fit a custom intercooler pipe? ( Besides the Buschur one)

Search ebay for an 'odyssey battery' or for a 'xstatic batcap'.

you want the odyssey 680 MJ (make sure you get the MJ as it is Metal Jacketed to put up with high temps).

I just ordered one on ebay it was 95 bux shipped, cause I had to pay sales tax, the seller is in CA.

I have the BR upper pipe and all I did was buy a lawn tractor battery, put the cable ends over the terminals, clamp down and go. Battery cost me 19.99. The only thing you have to be careful of is not leaving lights on. Also, I live in FL so I don't have to worry about cold starts. It's not a solution for everyone, but it worked for me!

PC680MJT
Small 680 cranking amp battery with metal jacket and SAE automotive terminals.
Also available without the metal jacket for low temperature applications.
Battery measures 3.11" wide x 7.27" long x 6.67" tall with the metal jacket and weighs 15.4 pounds.

Excellent starting battery where high reserve capacity is not required.
Great lightweight racing battery for shedding extra pounds.
Can be mounted upright or flat.

680 Cold Cranking Amps should be fine. This battery isnt good if you leave your lights on though heheh.

I dont think its 680 CCA, its only 280 based on teh spec sheet from battery mart. I also have the dilema choosing whether this battery is sufficient for the cold NE temperatures. Anyone on these boards have this battery in their cars in cold climate areas? Any probs with cold start ups?

Specs:

Length 7 in.
Width 3 1/16 in.
Height 6 5/8 in.
Drycell Battery
With Metal Jacket
12 Volt
16 Ah @ 10hr rate
280 CCA
680 Cranking Amps for 5 Seconds
28 Minute Reserve Capacity
Cycle life @ 77°F 400 at 100% DOD
-40°F to 140°F Temperature Range
Black Panther Predator BP-600MJ equivalent

Don't know if this helps .. but the guy who sold me the battery used something to test the battery and it registered 345CCA .. and he said the odessey always shows better CCA than rated ..

I run an Odyessey PC925 in my car. Pics are in this thread:

Some guys run a smaller version of that battery as well. But I wanted something that would start the car every time, even in cold weather.

I think the battery was ~100-120 dollars. The bracket was made the same time a bunch of other stuff was made (exhaust, IC pipes, etc) so I don't remember how much the battery tray itself cost. It'll depend on your fab shop I guess. My shop, L&R Racing, will likely not be producing the battery trays as mine was a one off they did.
