Another ACD issue (super fast prime)
Hey, im having issues bleeding my acd. Here is whats going on.
First I noticed my fluid level was low. like LOW LOW. I topped it up and decided to try to bleed it. First time, the pumped kicked on like normal, about 5 seconds, then shut off. Every time after that, it only comes on for like a second. And not even every time. I have heard about the pump not coming on at all, or timing out after 25 seconds, but never about a short one second kick start and then no pressure. Im thinking maybe a massive air bubble or something, but not too sure. One would think that it is shutting itself off after it has built the pressure.... but there is no pressure in the bleeder. I can open it, and it dribbles out, thats it. I have checked all my connections, checked the codes (only regarding my right rear ABS sensor i need to put in when it warms up, no ACD pump fault codes at all.)
Any thoughts? My original pump seized, and i replaced it once already. I dont want to do it again really.
Cheers.

Are you applying 100% throttle throughout the bleeding process? If so and with you opening the bleeder, there should be fluid coming out at a reasonable rate.
The first time I bled my ACD pump, I had something similar like what you seem to be describing (100% TPS, open bleeder but just a slow dripping of fluid). That pump was shot. When I got a new one and bled it, I got a good stream of fluid coming out after it had built pressure.

oh yes it is pedal to the floor. the pump does a little noise like it is priming, but still no pressure.
and then there is the mystery where my fluid was going. there are no visible leaks anywhere.
ive tried making it prime 5 times before opening the bleeder. still just dribbles.

i just double checked and not getting any pump failure codes, or pressure codes. only 23,26. pump seems to prime ok after a drive, 5 seconds, then 2, then 1 on the gas pedal prime method.
bah.

that sounds normal..
try unpluging the pump motor connector, and applying 12V direct to it... just take care to connect the + and - accordingly..
The pump should run, and if it is ok it should slow down considerably as the pressure rises..
Losing fluid is indicative of a broken actuator in the transfer box..

I was worried about that. I am going to drain the tcase this evening and see what's up. If there is fluid mixing in there, I'm guessing it needs a rebuild, or is this something thy can be remedied with a seal?
