Kelford 288 Cams

Does anyone have any experience with Kelford 288's? I can't find much information on them other than a handful of dyno sheets. If you run them or know someone that does let me know what you think. Dynos would be greatly appreciated! Doesn't matter what size motor or what turbo..I'm just trying to get an idea on how these perform.

i have never seen any dyno sheets around here for these cams.they have huge duration so most people won't be able to maximize them in their cars.i think there are better cams out there for a drag EVO.i think the S3 or R2 are better profiles for most EVO's.

i think the Kelford 284HL cams will make more power in the same rpm range and the 276HL will make more power at an even lower rpm range.

what rpm range are you looking for out of your EVO?

also i believe you can order cams from Kelford that aren't dual pattern.for example instead of that 288/280,you could go with 288/288.i feel like they will make more or similar power with slightly less rpm necessary to complete the task.

i understand the theory behind the dual pattern cams for our cars, but i feel like most of the available dual pattern cams for EVO's are overdone.i would like the see the difference between intake and exhaust smaller.instead of .020" or 1/2 of a mm gap on the lift,i would rather see .005" or less difference.and for duration, maybe just 2-3 degrees instead of 4-6 degrees.basically i feel like the differences between intake/exhaust on the EVO dual pattern cams are too large and that the standard pattern cams work better for our applications most of the time.

Well I'm pretty set on the S3's for the most part, but my friend who tunes the car wants to see me run the 288's. I've been skeptical about it since no one runs them...there's got to be a reason why!

I just finished up building a 2.0 with 10.8:1 compression that I plan on revving to 9500-10000. Turbo will either be a FP 3794 or a 6766. I want to make a nice flat curve with peak power at the top of the rev range. Having power drop off the last few hundred rpm will not be acceptable. Car is also running an AEM ems.

Other than VD's this is the only dyno sheet I have on 288's. My friend tuned this car which is a stock block with a little journal bearing 5857 at 29psi on e85. So, I'm wondering how they would do with a big turbo and higher rpm. There's got to be a few of you that run these cams! Let's hear about them!
