Just USB. AEM has an upgrade coming out for flex fuel support on the series 2. So if that is what you are looking for then yes the series 2 would be hot.

Uh, I beg to differ.

EMS 2 has one GIANT difference; Throttle response.

Also, USB, Software, ease of starting.

/thread.

Personally, I would not run the EMS 1 again after driving an EMS 2 car.

My aem v1 may have died yesterday. If I go v2 will the tuning have to be started from scratch again? I have 12 hours into this v1 and would like to transfer it over to the v2. Is it able to do this? Thanks in advance

@wickedwhite there is an AEM EMS section under the ECU tuning forum, I think you might get a better answer over there.
Going back to the original topic, I've heard that V1 has proper anti lag capability while with the V2, anti lag doesn't really work, is that true?

Not true. You just need to set it up correctly. If you want to lock the timing at -17* you need to set it up. On the series 1, it was fixed at -17*.

Err,
Unless you mean rally anti lag. I have not played with rally anti lag on the series 2. Most people call 2step, anti lag. So if you mean it in the drag racing context then my previous answer was correct.

Yes rally or overrun anti lag not launch control w/anti lag.
I've heard that it doesn't work on the V2 like in other aftermarket ECUs such as the Vipec, Hydra...etc

So do you guys connect to the V1 via serial cable vs USB in the V2 case?
I am debating the switch from the stock ecu to a V1.
Thx

Can you elaborate on the response difference you felt with the V2? are there different features offered in the V2 to allow for better response?
Thx
