oil leak after motor install

I just put a motor n in my car w the help of a friend on the weekends. Just ironning out the bugs and driving it a lil bit but I'm still getting oil from somewhere between the block n the hot side of the turbo. The turbo is dry but the o2 housing n everything else is dirty. It seems more like a spay, n my thoughts are the flex line that returns oil to the block may have a crack. My next step is to pull the down pipe, drain the oil, n check the line.

Wondering if anybody can give their .02¢

Did you check your oil feed line going into the turbo? How about the banjo bolt going into the head? Did you replace the gaskets and crush washers?

Nothing is leaking from them. We used the red gasket stuff for the feed line.

I know what I think it is but like I said, I'm a novice.
I just want to hear other possibilities that I may be overlooking...

You should be using gaskets... not a huge fan of the "red" stuff... so might want to pull the line off and check to see if its cracked and put a gasket on there...

I know this may seem obvious but we just dropped an engine into one and noticed oil all over the same areas you were describing. During the swap we forgot to put the inspection bolt on the block for the oil pump back in and was spraying oil all over the place.

It was a bolt hole in the front of the motor. The motor I got didn't come with one n we looked over it.
I'm slowly upping the boost keeping an eye on anything getting wet/leaking and breaking in my clutch.
After 7 weeks if not driving it, it feels really calming to drive it again.

Glad to hear you solved it. It definitely is a strange place to put an inspection hole bored into the block.

It's there so you can set the balance shaft in phase.

Motor was balance shaft deleted. Either way idk why the bolt wouldn't have been there...
