Looking for any info on motor mounts with lower durameter ratings, I have 110k miles on the car and have replaced lower engine mount with a blox, diff and mustache bushings, and driveshaft carrier bushings, im still getting alot of engine and drivetrain movement and slop, only thing left are the other motor mounts.

I do not want something super hard, i want stiffer than stock with longer life.....65 durameter is what im looking for i think, megan has 75 durameter ones that replace the whole mount that i may get if theres no better option.

I got new OEM mounts on sides. I had some 75a ones and they sucked! Way too much vibration. My favorite combo is OEM side mounts and stiffer front and rear mount. Too me its the best of both worlds.... tight engine but vibration is acceptable.

How much did you pay for the stock mounts?

My stockers are def **** at this point, i get a lot of rattle/bucking and movement due to mileage, and hard driving im sure.

I was hoping to get something slighlty more performance than stock, but the majority of what i hear is even 75 Da causes in cabin vibration and rattles, I already have some from the front mount and it doesnt bother me but any more and i think it will.

I heard about the rally armour mounts which are supposedly better than stck but not to aggressive, cant find em anywhere.

I may just have to do wha you did and replace the stockers, but if any one knows of any sub 75 da mounts that arnt to abd vibration wise, a 65 or 60 would probably be nice id rather go that route.

For some reason i dont like buying brand new stock parts to put on it.....

The trans and engine side mount are the most effective mounts to change. I have all but the rear mount changed, and the engine hardly moves, even when it's on a dyno.

The motor rocks back and forth not side to side. The side mounts do almost nothing! Front and rear mount is everything. I bought new OEM ones from stm.

seems to be some conflicting views here.......i did the fornt and am looking to do both sides but im look for mounts that are less than 70A darumeter if possible. i want stiffer than stock and softer than 75 for rattles sake.

The rear mount is just to much of a pita to do so im not doing it...plus i also think that one would transmit the most vibrations.

I replaced my mounts with the Torque Solution kit during my rebuild. Jesus does the interior vibrate at idle!!!

I didn't say the side mounts stop engine movement the most; I said those two were the most effective (namely when it comes to reducing wheel hop etc). If you upgrade the mount durometer at all, it's going to vibrate things plain and simple. Then again id you buy this car to perform, or to drive like a Cadillac?

Factory mounts are good from many evo specialist I have asked, unless your evo is a track car change to solid...

This is what i dont want......its a dd for me..

Clearly bought it to perform, but i dont want the whole car shaking as it is a dd not a race car, there should be a median.....

I def dont want solid.....the factory mounts are a rating of 45-45......I dont really want to go stock again simply because there are so many after market options and i want it to be more stiff just not shaking the whole car.....

If there was a 60-65 rating bushing or mount/bushing combo it would be perfect, and at the very least i would know that its not 75 and if it shakes a little bit no big deal


Tell me more about this....? any shakes or rattling? where did you get the fill? is it messy? did it solve any drivetrain slop issues, i have some id like to stiffen up....

i have had alot of drive train slop and vibration with all stock mounts and bushing and blox front mount. when i changed to stock front mount the vibration went down but slop was there. i changed mustache bar bushing, diff bushing, drive shaft bushing. got rid of the slop but not all of it. and vibration was stlll there but after 2.5k rpm. did my cams and retainers and builder pointed out that the balance shaft timing was out of wak. after correcting that my car revved very easy and smooth with no vibrations. recently changed both side inner and outer tie rods and the dive train slop is nonexistent. so i decided to use the torque solutions front mount, even with it i cant feel any vibrations.

Well I have ordered 2 side mounts with 70 durometerr rating, and my front blox mount is like a 90 i think, if there is a ton of vibrations then ill have to look into the balance shafts timing, or will change the front mount to a 70 durometer to match the other two.

What "a ton of vibration" is will very person to person. I cannot stand ny vibration. Your 2 sides and one Blox will be too much for me. Every evo I sat in that doesn't have all OEM and one after market front was too much for me. Good luck
