keep getting lock out of gear with new clutch
Last night I went to the drag strip and ran my car. I keep on getting lock out of 2,3 n 4. It would go in its spot but not in gear. I just rebuild my qm 8 leg with 400 miles on it. What do you guys n girls think what wrong with it? Clutch or syncros?

Just to be clear.
You had this clutch installed in the car with no issues, then presumably it got worn, you pulled it, and rebuilt it, and reinstalled it, and now it's locking you out?
If that's the case, it would seem that it's most likely something to do with the clutch, the rebuild, or the install.
Also, you're saying that the stick goes into the gate, but not into gear? What do you mean by this... you're letting the pedal up, and there's no engagement? So the stick is free to move from the gate to neutral with the clutch pedal out?

When I shift and let go of the pedal there no engagement. Normal drive the car shift fine it just when I'm launching it. The car is a 6 speed and I was shifting it at 7k rpm

1. How are you getting the engagement back?
2. I know you mentioned 400 miles... but what's the proper break in period for this clutch? 400 miles seems WAY low to start launching.
3. Did you have the flywheel re-surfaced, and did you clean it after?
4. Who did the install?
Essentially... are you positive this isn't just the clutch being overheated, and slipping?

Its the clutch. I cant tell you what is wrong but thats the problem child.
I had a cc stg2 that was perfect. Then I popped the tob and had to reinstall. Afterwards it was fine until my first bigtrack event when it started locking me out of shifts.
Turns out it was dragging at high rpm even with the pedal adjusted as outward as possible. I replaced the entire shooting match with a twin disk and things are back to normal.
