front driveshaft noise evo iv

i have a noise coming from my outer cv joints. i had the same noise since ive bought the car but ive just fitted new outer joints and its still there.

i have got under the car and can actually move the driveshaft back and forth in the spline and when you push it hard in you get the knocking im hearing.

does anyone have an assembly diagram as im wondering if im missing some spacers that sit on the shaft before you knock the joint on.

i have fitted the spring clips on end of shaft so they do not slide right out.

they just seem to want to slide in to far to the joint

can actually move the driveshaft back and forth in the spline

this is normal. the cv joint in the shaft allows the shaft to expand and shrink.

I was referring to the drive shaft. are you referring to the cv shaft??

the driveshaft slides in and out about 25-30mm.
cv shafts only move about 6-8mm.

Can you post a picture with the tire off and show us what it is doing? "Too Far" and "Normal"? Before and After style?

Are the CVs aftermarket/stock, what other mods are done to the suspension, Drivetrain etc.

This doesn't sound healthy but it could very well be semi-normal.

Good Luck!
