Question Synapse Synchronic DV

I've been reading that a crushed stock IX DV won't always hold boost over a certain PSI and that a Synapse DV is an excellent way to go. I was considering adding one of these to my build.

Anyone here have any experience with this part?

Benefits? Disadvantages?

How stock does this part look?

When do you need one?

I have the larger Synapse BOV in a recirculated configuration and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I've actually tried on purpose to get it to flutter or do other weird things and I've never been able to.

The DV should look fairly stock to the untrained eye I would think, contrary to the BOV.

What kind of boost level are you reaching/aiming for?

Currently I'm running 21 PSI on my existing set-up, but that is likely to increase once my build is finished and the car is retuned.

I was considering adding this part to my build if it will provide a tangible benefit.

Get one for sure. It's the closest thing there is to the stock-like drivability of the metal OEM IX DV but this will hold all the boost you throw at it.

Mrfred has a thread on the dv that's still goin, I had a thread on the bov out there long time ago.

i cant see the pics/vid since im at work, but are you thinking about get the little recirc compact one or something else?

ive been really thinking about switching over to speed density and at the same time switching up my valve from stock.

hows the compact synapse vs. tial qr? driveability wise?

Not a direct comparison, but my recirculated Synapse BOV is lightyears ahead in driveability vs my old Forge DV I had. I would expect the Synapse DV to be just as good. The TiAL QR is supposed to be good as well, so I imagine both would be good options.

Anyone know at what point the crushed IX DV starts to stop holding boost?

I may not even need to get a different DV...

I've read the IX DV can hold boost up to 24-25 psi but that's just from searching threads on this forum.

i havent had an issue at up to about 25ish psi (at least that i have noticed). I was however having some bothersome part throttle, not quite bucking but almost a feeling/sound like the valve wasnt sealing up fully because of the only slight throttle input in a specific turn at one track i run (stock valve is a dual chamber i think?). I was however on MBC the last few times at that track and ill be out there tomorrow on 3 port.

at pocono last month i rode in a track prepped evo running SD and a tial, and it just felt a lot more fluid with on/off throttle and part throttle situations to be honest. never been in a synapse car tho.

Ot, killer where does your mbc get signal from? Pre throttle body or post? I could induce surge to my set up when I had manifold boost running my wastegate, because at part throttle the pre throttle body pressure is higher than post. I run two boost gauges and delta p is usually higher than 5 psi depending..

I'm waiting for my greddy to die then synapse!
