I imagine the pressure ports are probably being used to validate their design and are not part of the final design.

A large A/R divided stainless turbine housing with external gate would be AWESOME. It's probably the only thing that could ever get me back to a stock frame setup. "No" to the stock downpipe flange though, make it V-band.

Edit:

WHOOP!
I see an external gate there on the side of the turbine housing!

Sweet little position sensor on the back of that MV-S gate too.
Turbo inlet pressure sensor
That's about all I can make out on my phone.

Do I see an external wastegate? I see at least one v-band...

plus one for fp taken the guess work out of making a nice bolt on setup to go along with their turbos. Iam so glad I've waited to purchase a turbo upgrade, I think this looks promising.

Two banjo bolts, not sure what's going on with the orange hose, sensor coming off turbine housing (or is that the O2 sensor coming off the O2 housing?), what looks to be the BOV port coming off the intake is capped. Ok done guessing lol.

In general terms, would exhaust pressure tend to be higher at the four individual sensor locations on the manifold, or at the inlet area of the turbine housing?

EDIT: Granted, this is s loaded question.

Just talking average static pressure, I would think it would be higher due to frictional losses in the runner. However, you might get some pressure recovery as the airflow slows down with the increase in volume at the collector. On the other hand, its pulse flow so the whole manifold might be at the same average pressure and you might have to look at the individual pulses to see a difference.

Definitely a hard question to speculate about. No idea on factual measurements as the only time I've seen taps like that, they were running at a very high sample rate and relating instantaneous pressure level to crank position. That has nothing to do with average pressure though really.

I would love to see some back-to-back testing of this vs. OEM vs. ported OEM exhaust manifolds.

Thanks again to everyone at FP for continuing to develop for the 4G63/CT9A platform!

^ this, any thoughts on whether porting this new cast manifold would yield anymore gains, but i guess that might be something worth looking into later when they release it

The fact that this is almost 100% stealth with the heat shield (I live in CA) is awesome and I'm very interested in possibly picking one of these up.

the pressure sensor setup is pretty much for measuring turbine pressure, i.e, turbo performance and not manifold performance. by the looks of it, fp is well on its way to producing a stealth ewg turbo. presumably its got a bb chra. i hope they have optimized the twin scroll hotside housing for each of the turbine wheel sizes they will likely offer and have moved to a gamma-ti turbine wheel material. can't wait to see.

hey michael, gotta love swagelok. i've been reading pressure off a single runner without significant issue for a long time now. i get some pressure serrations, but nothing that obscures what's happening. i did just recently have English put 1/8" npt taps on the remaining runners, so maybe i'll combine signals as you have. i probably should compare pressure in the two scroll paths as well.

now that i think about it, a single ewg implies single scroll. crap. i hope fp has worked out a twin scroll setup with a single ewg.
