FP Cast Race Manifold for the 4G63

I got mine yesterday, and upon inspection it is a great looking piece... however, looking down from the top it is gonna take some massaging to get tools on the two nuts like the pictures have suggested... glad I didn't get it coated first is all I can say...

I wasn't either. It's a bit disheartening to have to grind on a brand new piece.
To the others who suggested FP will correct the issue with theirs by grinding it out - I think that's a possibility. For those who had theirs sent for coating already... I think you'll have an issue. When I talked to them, FP was aware of the tight clearance between the nuts and the manifold, but were under the impression a thin-walled socket could fit on it. However, I measured the driver's side nut on my manifold with feeler gauges and only had 1.03mm of clearance. So I would have had to find a socket with less than 1mm walls in order for it to work. For me, it was easier to clearance it out before I put the motor in the car because I don't want to be limited to a certain brand of 12mm socket in the future - if one that thin even exists.
All in all, I'm still happy with the manifold but after waiting a month and a half longer than originally suggested, having to buy a special (overpriced IMO) bolt kit, seeing that the port work I paid an extra $100 for is a 10-minute job that goes maybe 1" deep and didn't take more time to smooth casting lines, and having to either find a special unicorn tool or grind on it to actually install the turbo....I kind of wish I would have just gone with a ported stocker.
Still - it's a nice piece.

Think of this mani like the first iphone it will have bugs, glitches, etc. All these guys that have received or will be receiving this mani will have problems with it because it's a prototype. All these imperfections that the mani has will get fixed and when it does it will be better then the first.

I hate having to wait b/c a signature is required. Would have been nice for FP to tell us Signature is required and have it held at a UPS location near UPS ahead of time. Well, 3rd attempt for them to ship to the house and I won't be home until 6pm. I doubt they'll come at that time. Looks like I'll have to manually have the package held at the UPS location via the website.

Am I the only one who feels slightly slighted? The wait time was grossly under estimated, the $100 port work looks like someone spent 10 minutes on it and we can't even get recesses in the piece to bolt on a turbo? No customer should have to grind anything for a piece to work or it should have been clearly noted in the description before purchase. I know some praise FP for their products and this is my first from them. I just am not sure if this will be the last or not. I guess I'll wait to see how they respond.
