How much hp can a stock evo IV engine handle?

Hi guys new here! I am wondering how much hp my JDM evo IV stock engine can handle? a couple of guys told me only below 400hp! and can only handle 1.1bar of boost! not more otherwise its BOOM! is this true? i mean i know that pistons on the evo IV are weaker but still it's a 4g63! cheers

if its built like ours... and i heard it wasn't 400tq is about your limit... i would error on the side of caution and not run more then 350tq on stock internals. 450-500hp... horsepower doesn't tend to break ****... its bad tunes and torque... to much of either of them is a terrible terrible thing...

dont believe everything you are told. I have seen the insides of every 4g63 produced from 1989-2006. there were no fantastic changes in design that makes the evo 4 block weaker than the rest. all these years have been pushed to 700whp stock block records. but in my opinion no year block should be pushed past 400wtq if you want any kinda of reliability. keeping it to 350tq is even wiser.
