Connecting Rod HELP!!

Hi,my name is David, but like my forum name I go by Big D, and I mainly build andrace SRT-4’s. I’m in the process of building my own 2.6L stroker motor whichinvolves offset grinding the crank to run the EVO 4G63 7-bolt rod. My two big questionsare what is the “best” and most affordable rod that can do upward of 1000hp,and I was looking at the Eagle set p/n 5900MB3D and the Eagle site lists themat 1000hp rating but Summit has them as 750hp, any word on which is moreaccurate? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

Lots of people running big power use Manly turbo tuff rods.

The search feature on this site isn't the best but it occasionally will answer some questions. Give it a shot to see if your questions have already been answered. No offense.

They upped the rating on the Eagles because people are pushing more power with them but I wouldn't try 1000whp with them.

I have a set of eagles for sale if you decide to go that route. However having a 2.6 literally with either a long stroke or a huge piston both will greatly increase the mechanical stresses on the rods so I would lower that rating compared to a 2.0 with a light piston and short stroke.

Something else to consider is how much torque you plan to make. If you are running a skittle with a 2.6 for a race motor, you probably are gonna be making a BOATLOAD of torque too. H-beams like Eagle rods aren't too happy at high torque....like 575 foot/lb or so.

R&R Steel I beam will do 1000whp and are lighter than the turbo tuff. Approximately the same price as well but weigh 90g less per rod.
