Maybe cheaper too. Wonder if Evo RS will get the Ti turbo too...

Sorry, most here refer to the Evo VI Ti turbo as they are looking at an increase in power...

No problem, I think basic bolt-ons give you great power but as the turbo thread states, Evo 7/8 turbo has better cooling which I prefer over a few horsepower.

I'll ask a dealer when I go for my oil change about RS turbo, if it's Ti and how much would it cost.

I have a titanum turbo, but its from a GSR TME EVO VI. Its smaller (15GK2), so it spools a lot faster, and its very light. I say its light, because on our EVOs, you can feel that the air flow at idle is not free flowing, but when I had the ti turbo, it was like there was no back pressure from the turbo whatsoever.

It also spooled and achieved full boost around 2500-3000RPMs. I tried running it around 24psi and it did it.

What I heard from Ti turbos is they dont jold boost to redline as good as the inconnel ones, but with my mods before (3inch turbo back, AEM intake), I was able to hole 24 psi to redline. The Ti I had had a 10.5 hot side, compared to the 9.8 on the EVO VIIs and VIIIs, so this made it better at the top end.

I wish I had a 16G ti turbo, but good luck in finding those. Brand new trey'll probably be around $2500 from Japan.

Also, if you are planning on staying pretty much stock except for the exhaust, boost controller, and intake, the titanum turbos will serve you well.

If you want want 400whp, Id say youll need a bigger turbo, or get a stroker kit like Claduis.

Thanks. $2500 sounds a bit too much and definitely not worth it.

If this thread is really going to compair the two turbo's, we need to atleast stay within the same model year of turbos... compairing Evo's VI turbos to Evo VIII or whatever other models is not a true compairisons.. as its been proven before the two are not identical... I'm sure this has been stated before so lets keep it in mind otherwise people are going to become confused. I believe there is a Ti option for the Evo VIII in japan right now.. for sure the VII's is available but for everyday driving or for street racing its not too practicle, i'd opt for an aftermarket over the Ti option.

The aftermarket ones from my understanding are only larger and help you make more horsepower which is not the intention here.
And I did make a point that originally I was reffering to the same Evo 8 16G turbos just from different materials.

You could always size something interesting like a small Garret GT series...

If you got any reports from customers and their thoughts after the install would also be appreciated.

In Britain people certainly seem to be over the moon over these turbos, especially the ones modified with a garret ball bearing cartridge and a little porting. They seem to think that this is the ultimate road going turbo with unmatched responsiveness.
