sooner spooling turbo?

i currently have a gtx3582r on my 2.4 . it has a 10.5 c/r, 1250cc fic, 280 gsc cams, buschur intake manifold and t/b, ets fmic with 3.5 intercooler, ets single scroll turbo kit with t3 flange, fully ported map head.

im happy with 600 awhp (for now i guess) but i want it to spool sooner. right now boost comes online around 3750-4000 and then it hits, and hits hard too. i would like it to spool up a bit sooner but also retain reliability. any ideas? or should i just stick with this

So what rpm do you want spool to kick in? Could be a simple cam adjustment or as much as a new turbo. If you spend some time looking at the functional rpm of your cams set up and turbo that will help as well. Also what are your expectations for max rpm.

If the answer to all this is just a few hundred rpm more---try advancing your intake cam a few degrees, like 2 and see what you get. Your going to give up a little upper end hp, but could be the simple solution to your expectations. GL

You say that the turbo "comes on line" between 3750-4000 RPM. At.what RPM do you reach full boost? Also, what is full boost in your case? What A/R T3 housing is fitted to your turbo?

Have you tested to see at what PSI the gate is cracking? You could try adjusting (tightening) the gate. Also, maybe a 1.06 TS T4 kit would have been more appropriate right off the bat, given the large displacement mill.

I have a brand new twin-scroll HTA82 1.06 available if you want to build a twin-scroll kit.

when i ordered the kit i had ordered a t4 and then talked to mike at ets. he told me the difference and how a t4 is more for bigger motors. at the time i was going to do this with a stock block so i went with the t3. i think the a/r is .82, im honestly not sure, on ets website it does not show those particular options.
