Smoke @ Startup

Smoke @ Startup
She's gonna roll 11,000 miles within the next day or two. Four months old. A friend came by to see it so I'd started it up and backed it outta the garage real quick and did some yardwork. An hour later he stops by, we ride his S6 for a bit then back to my place so he can ride in the Evo. I start it up... smoke wafts by the passenger side. We both stare at it out the window. I swear. I ask if that was smoke from startup. He said "Yep." I goose the throttle just a bit. He said "Yep, just like that." There was a little bit of smoke wafting by the passenger side once more.
I'd swear I've seen a hint of it if I take off hard in the past waaaaaaay back in the rear view but nothing I could be sure of.
OK, so, I'm worried. If it shows up when started/cold it's one thing. If it's at acceleration it's another. And, then, of course, if it's antifreeze...
Help. How do I identify the exact problem here?
Thanks!

I figured someone would ask that question... I hate to say white, but it wasn't black. It was at least gray. Tough to tell when it's about 12' up and has drifted from the tailpipe to the front of the car - but that's all I know so far!
... and before anyone accuses, I have NOT driven this car hard! The occasional rip from gear to gear but no autocross yet as our season hasn't started. Alot of highway miles, obviously...

might be
hmmm well dude I dont have an evo just yet but my civic is turbocharged, and what Ive found is turbos must be broken in properly, if not you possibly get a smokey car or ya runnin a lil rich lol, anyhow check your manifold if this applies to your evo,not sure, for any signs of leaks, by noticing black residue exausht" around gasket or seal area...if ya find residue like that you might have to change your gasket or tighten... or take ya ride to a muffler shop and they should have a device that checks for leaks again Im going purely of my civic Im not sure if this applies to your evo but are just trying to give ya some ideas hope ya figure it out

You guys are getting too technical for this guy.
I had the same problem. Did you do an oil change of have your oil changed?
I had oil spill onto my engine and it smoked a nasty cloud as well.
Once the oil burns off the smoke should go away.
Feel free to pm me any questions.

I'll have to have someone watch closely when I start it sometime. I did just have an oil change and checked the stick later today. Would overfull create any issues?
I didn't get a small cloud when I started her up tonight, but, I wasn't looking and who knows what the breeze was doing... *shrug*
I'll look into it more...
Oh, and if a moderator moves a thread, why don't they PM the poster so the poster can go find it later...??? Just a thought, and thanks!

Oil would give a bluish smoke and it would also give a distinctive oil smell to it.
If the engine is running rich it would give black smoke but I never saw that on start up.
