Fuel Tank Problem

Hi, I have this problem with my fuel tank. Recently whenever I top up my gas full, my meter always doesn't imply FULL. It shows like 7/8 full, the attendant said it's due to the hot air in the tank. What's wrong huh?

hot air? a vent tube removes this, sounds like you have a problem with the fuel level sender in the tank. Did you replace the fuel pump, if so this may be the problem, if not it probably needs a level assembly.

Does the gage read empty when the light comes on?? I had my sender replaced at on 500 miles. I would fill the tank and it would read 3/4 and the light would come on with 8 gallons in the tank. If yours reads OK on the low side maybe try to adjust the gage needle.

Did you put a upgraded fuel pump? If you did you have to make sure that the little floater was free to move inside the tank. If it gets stuck....well that's what will happen.
