Who runs a 156mm Rod and 94mm Stroke on a 4G63?

Hey guys!

I need feedback from any of you guys running a 94mm Stroke Crank and 156mm Rods in a 4G63.

I was running the 94mm/156mm combo in a 4G64 block however I want to go back to a 4G63 Block.

Please chime in on your setups! I am very interested.

I will be running around 750whp

Thanks Guys

Doing the math on it, you would need a set of stroker pistons (6mm shorter) to keep from hitting the valves/head. Also, you will need an 85mm piston for the 4G63 for stock bore, the stock bore on a 64 is 86.5mm.

Yes. CP makes an off the shelf piston, as does manly and maybe a few others. I really want the 85mm bore. More meat in the cylinders, as I plan to run high rpm/boost

Does anyone run this setup? It should be a mild stroker 2.l with an excellent 1.66 rs ratio

Actually your pistons compression height would have to be 9mm shorter, you have a 6mm longer rod and your crank has an extra 3mm of upwards travel.

I heard that the 4g64, despite the larger bore, also has more meat in the cylinder walls, than the 63

I have both blocks and the 4g63 Def has more meat by far. Especially with the 85mm bore. The 4g64 is Def more sensitive to HE failures.

not a good idea at all. the piston pin needs to be moved closer to crown by 9mm to do this. 6mm pushes the limits. with 9mm you need to run flat top or raised crown to maintain good crown thickness.

With a 10:1 compression Piston, there should be plenty of material in there.

I know there are people out there using a similar piston. I guess we will see how it works out.

Stock LS7 pistons are very similar

I know someone who took a stock 63 and 64 and measured how much it took to bore them out until the coolant jacket showed, and 64 took a lot more boring to get there. And this also highlighted the weakest part of the cylinder (the bottom) where splits occur on the ultra high hp/boost cars.

I know English does a 4g63 block, 94mm crank and 153mm rods for a 2.2 that's been making some serious numbers
