The works turbo is using the same turbo we are using a GT35R. It just uses a stock manifold unlike our tubular unit.

Also our kit made 395whp on 91 octane pump gas and 20psi.

I'm not complaining by any means, simply pointing out what to exepct for a street driven car and these big turbo cars are usually mutually exclusive. a 2.4L bottom end would help spool and low and torque though.. ~350whp motors with 264 cams usually still remain completely streetable.. above that with out aftermarket ECUs and with bigger turbos expect less than adequate daily driven (low to mid rpm) usability.

The gt35R with a .63 housing seems to be nice

Are those numbers using the S-AFC or AEM? or something else?

Ron RnR or whoever. Ok so the HKS turbos are basically Garrett units? So how do the garrets perform at lower levels of boost (say 1.5bar)? What are they like for spool up (please give figures for boost/rpm)? Why are HKS units the tuners choice in Japan? By the way I am not dissing you in any way I just want answers.

OK, Garret units and HKS units use identical components, but HKS mixes and matches those components, and then you pay considerebly more for their name. Sometimes HKS is better and sometimes its worse then straight Garret stuff. If the tuner chooses to make their own combination using Garret parts then it will be the same quality of part.

HKS units in Japan? Well, Garret certainly does not sponsor very many Japanese Racecars, and I imagine HKS gets such a huge discount on importing Garret parts becuase of volume that buying Garret **** in Japan is not any cheaper. thats speculation, but Japanese people tend to like buying from Japanese companies.

RNR has there upgraded intercooler on their car, and they sell the whole kit, not just the turbo.

I was looking at there gt35r kit myself, good price, sick power. Out of all the ones I have seen this seems the best so far. There will be more coming out I am sure. I guess we will have to wait and see.

If you want a more powerful turbo, you are going to have to sacrifice turbo lag time. That's just how it works. So its not super streetable. But then again, if you're planning on 500+ whp, you're not expecting it to be a street car.

This will always be the case, and there will always be a compromise with all tuning. The AMS kit (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=69895 ) looks very good though. The GT32 offering around 500bhp with spool up only about 200rmps later than stock. Stick a stroker on there or run a high comp. ratio with good ignition and you will have standard spool up with 500bhp no problems. Who says you cant have power without driveability?

The HKS EVO VII made 533hp and about 470 something ft-lb and held the Tsukuba track record(this is a VERY highly ranked achievement), and was broken by their Evo VIII not too long ago with the same kit around 545. But you DO pay a premium, cheapest I have seen this kit was 5 something over at Machevo. This is not a dyno killing, straight line ultimate turbo, but more of a track suited turbo, lots of usable power to get out of the corners in a hurry. Buschur says they have a kit in R&D that should equal the power at half the price roughly

545WHP on the HKS EVo 8.75 or 545HP?

a 450WHP setup that pulls from 3000 RPM to redline (+/- 8000 RPM ) would be astounding. Even better if around $2500. + 2500 in other pieces, pumps, injectors, cams, radiators, oil coolers, etc.

Evo9 turbo with a 20G wheel and BB conversion would be capable of this IMO. It would be a sick combo forhte street.
