Ya looks like the guys in the UK have bin doing this for a while does help not willing to do this on my own brand new car.

Yeah, I hear ya. Look at it this way though. You can use it as extra theft protection by wiring a hidden switch to disable the relay included in the wiring upgrade.

If you have the stock ECU i dont see how a failing fuel pump would blow the engine. You'd either fuel cut if you were boosting, or the engine would just stall out. However, if you have a standalone (esp d jetro versions) it will probably end up running super lean then blow because of the lack of fuel and lack of sensors.

i was planning to purchase the PE pumps. I shouldnt be needing one if I'm not running over 320whp right???

all it takes is a few seconds of no fuel to cause det. if this happens BANG! there goes a ring or a piston........ It is not hard to blow up a engine with running lean... even for a short time
