FP Red... Keep stock intake and exhaust manifolds?
I'm about to be installing my new parts on my stock block evo viii, my question is should I get an aftermarket exhaust or intake manifold? Here's my reason for asking, of course I want all the power in the world, but I am trying to make between 400-450whp on 93 octane, and don't want to exceed that on the stock block being that it is my daily driver. I currently have my boost at 25psi, buschur tuned, walbro 255, turbo back catless exhaust, and im looking to put in my AMS intercooler, IC and intake piping, injectors, and FP red turbo.
Will exhaust and intake manifolds make big gains for this setup with a good tune? Are they really worth spending like $1500 to make a little more power or quicker spool? Or will they skyrocket me with too much power on the stock block?
If you have an FP red turbo on a stock block, please share some numbers and your mods!!!
Thanks

if you go with a sheet metal intake like a magnus or an AMS FI intake, you are going to see more peak numbers but lose a bit of spool. A ported intake manifold like bushur or STM uses will increase power throughout and keep the same spool or actually increase it a tiny bit.
Stock block is normally good for around 450-500 whp before you really start pushing it.
Of course, anything with a good tune on it and good parts will make good power.
The better way to your post would be to list out your actual mods that are already on the car and what you are looking to add.
Best of luck

I agree with this. The ones i have seen had full bolt ons with a fp red/black and made your goal with cams. IMO uf you can only get one get cams with springs/retainers

I have a FP red DBB on a stock block and Im making around 450 whp on 93. I actually have both the stock intake/exhaust mani but they are ported. I also have GSC S2 cams as well. Just remember that if you are modding now u will continue in the future so just try to do it right the first time with your end goals in mind. I planned to getting to 450 whp sometime back and slowly worked my way here to make this power safely without maxing out any part.

Yeah sorry about that forgot to list them, here they are:
Walbro 255
1000cc injectors
FP red BB
GSC S2 cams
Beehive springs and Ti retainers
AMS intercooler
Intake
Short route UICP
LICP
Turbo back exhaust, cat less
MBC, boosting at 25 right now
Buschur tuned
There's are the parts I already have minus the injectors.... Where should I spend my money now for 400-450 whp?

I think your setup should easily bring you to your 400-450 whp goal (Dynojet). Come to think of it, you should be getting around 400 whp on a mustang dyno.
Are you on the MAF setup? If yes, i would suggest getting a Speed Density setup (4 bar MAP + SD intake). This should free up some extra horsepower.

Power isn't the issue, it's torque. You could make 1000WHP and 400 pounds of torque and be fine.
Get a Buschur Ported Intake Manifold. Make sure to run a S2 Cam or better and you'll hit 500WHP easily on 93. Port your exhaust manifold.

Some of these guys dont read before they post. But once again, port your stuff (intake manifold + exhaust manifold), get a 65mm throttle body from Buschur Racing or MilSpec, get a speed density setup, get a very good tuner (TSComp), and watch your horsepowers increase

I'll be that guy and suggest sending your stuff to Curt Brown to rework. For the price I don't think it can be beat. I had him hit those three major parts on my set up and for the boost I really think it paid off.
