Stock ECU Learning
Hello All,
The EVO ECU I assume, is an adaptive system. Last night, I took the EVO out for a very spirited drive and redlined it in both 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (Wow...what a rush.) The first two times I redlined in 2nd and 3rd, the EVO would hestiate at about 5500rpm, and just over 7000rpm. After a few more, pulls...things smoothed out, and the EVO was 'smooth' all the up the rpm gauge and all the way down.
It did not sound like the EVO was audibly detonating, I know what to hear for, but there were some definate stumbles. No CELs popped on, and now the EVO runs like a dream (no idle fluxuation...anywhere).
Has anybody else had this sort of experience with the EVO?
Thanks,
jcnel.

Yeah it is.. that's why when u tune the car.. u have to let it run full load on WOT for a few runs with the upgraded settings.. the first run will not produce anything but only with subsequent runs will u see the differences....
