Need to get several parts for my Evo VIII...please help.

Ok just got heavily into looking for some parts to upgrade the Evo VIII. First things first...this is what I have the money for:

1. Turbo Timer - Found a bunch, but I have no idea which is the best.

2. BOV - Looking to get a Greddy Type S off a sooby with only about 50 miles on it. But I don't know where to get the adapter...can anyone provide a link? Is there one better or louder like the Turbo X one?

3. Exhaust - Found a shop down here in South Fla which will do the 3" piping all the way on and a MagnaFlow muffler for $300. Is this a good deal? Should I get a better muffler?

4. NOS set for the IC...I was thinking I do not want to run the nitrous into the car just because I do not know just how much this engine can't take. And I have not been able to find results or reviews on NOS for the Evo VIII anywhere. So I was thinking of just getting it put on the IC. What do you guys think?

5. Springs....I wanted to get coilovers but I can't afford not even the Tein Basics. They are just too much money, over $800 at most places. So I have to stick to just springs to lower the car for now. I was looking at the H&R Racing Springs. But I do not know what would the proper lowering distances would be for the front and back...2" for the front and 1.5" for the back? How much do the H&R Racing ones even lower the Evo VIII by? Are there a better set of springs? And lastly where to buy?

Anything else that I should consider for now, that will not cost me thousands of dollars?

ok here goes:

1) doesn't really matter, get the one the looks good to you. they all work the same.

2) you would be better just buying a new one with the adpater from one of our vendors. if you do want used, check ebay and than just go to our vendor section and ask the vendors for the adapter.

3) that is a good deal but make sure that they do a good job other wise you will have problems in the future. also, if you want to get a good exhaust that is gurenteed to fit, check our vendor section for some deals.

4) Don't get it. it doesn't work. all it does is send the nos into the intake (it is aimed at the I/C but the intake sucks most of it so that is how you get the power but yu risk damage to the engine due to messing with the mas)

5) check out the tein s-tech. they are great quality and i think that the drop is perfect. many members run them here and they all seem to be happy.

welcome and good luck,

Snir

#1 you don't need, just leave the car on for couple of minutes, you don't need a blow off valve unless you upgrade the turbo, exhaust is fine, you forgot boost controler, Greddy is cheapest $299, and ECU reflash or piggyback fuel control, and cams HKS 264's for best drivebility

Dynoflash has a special at Nino's for $199 and is the cheapest. Vishnu does one for $400 and Works does one for $600. They all get good reviews from their customers.

A blow off valve is one of my first mods. The stock plastic cannot hold the pressure when the boost is turned up. This was leaking bad on the dyno. Cheapest boost controler is the hallman , works like a champ for 60 bucks

Ah, I hadn't thought of a boost gauge. I guess I should look at the usual suspects, like Greddy or HKS? Or are there some other significantly different gauge companies out there with something nice?
