Evo 4 gearbox to Evo 5 engine
I bought a Evo 5 Engine without the gearbox, can i use my evo4 gearbox to be put on Evo 5 engine? is there a big difference between E4 and E5 gearbox like ratio and other stuff?

I don't think it will fit... Isn't the Evo 4 engine slightly to the right side just like the 1G DSM, so that the transmission is to the left of the engine?
And the Evo 5 engine has it's transmission to the right of it... I don't see how you're going to make that work...
EDIT: I just remembered that it's the Evo 1-3 with the 1G DSM engine bay configuration, and Shepherd does the Evo 4-9 transmission, so I think it will fit.

Oh in terms of ratio, no they're practically the same.
I think it's the final gear that actually differed in the RS versions, I believe you had the option of a 4.8x FD or the usual 4.53 FD in an RS transmission (I think that option was also passed on to the Evo 5 and 6 but I'm not sure). If you have the RS transmission then you might want to check the FD, if it's the GSR transmission they'll be identical to each other.
This is presuming that you had the typical GSR transmission on your car before.
I read this somewhere before, I'm trying to find a link to it. If I find it I'll post the link later, but I could be incorrect... It has been sometime since I read this and my memory might be deceiving me.

There you go, that's a useful link.. Not the one I read but this is much better... Thank you for the link!
It seems I was correct about the different FD options after all.. I would check that out if I were you while the transmission is still not on.

Hi again, i have a follow up question, How about the transfer box and rear differential of evo 4 5 6, are they interchangeable? meaning can use transferbox and reardiff of 4 to 5 or 6 and vice-versa
