add one to the jacked tranny list

i brought my car in to diagnose a vibating sound. Turns out they are going to have to tear down my tranny to see what the problem is. I have no problem with this, because i do NOT abuse my car. I drive really hard on the twisties, but i never dump the clutch. My only concern is that if they find "evidence of abuse" the cost will come out of my pocket. I bought the car with over 100 miles on it... so it is more than possible the dealer was the one who abused it. And since i got it from Stevens Creek mitsu in San Jose, i wouldnt put it past those bastards.

Im hoping to god they cover it... as i was just layed off work. And there is really no way i can prove the dealer did anything. It would be my word against theirs. All i know is i treated my clutch with the respect it needs.

i guess i find out on monday...

if you sit in neutral, rev the car to 3-4k rpm, and hold the clutch in, no sound... the second you let the clutch out, it makes a vibrating metalic sound, push the clutch in its gone, let the clutch out it returns... 4 mechanics were looking at it scratching their heads, so they have to tear it apart to diagnose the problem..

that seems like a different problem than mine.
its definitly not a decelation noise cuz im standing still while in neutral and i keep the rpms constant. It has to do with the either the clutch itself or the clutch is amplifing the sound [where ever its coming from] when its disengaged.

If you read through it they mention the throw out bearing being bad on the clutch and replacing it seems to fix the clutch problem.
I have both noises, the clutch and the decel.
