Yeah, the A/R on that hotside should be loose enough to mitigate back pressure issues and being TS it should still spool really well on his stroker motor. Since it is integrally gated he avoids the cost and added complications of sourcing, flanging and plumbing for an external gate that he would have to deal with if he were to opt for the non-gated 1.05 housing.

Really? I would have thought that the heat cycles would cause it to debond from the aluminum.

I am either gonna order a stock MHI comp cover from CBRD cut for the BBK wheel(damn the surge!), or I'll weld up(fill) the surge ports and retaper the compressor inlet area removing the step down transition making it conical internally.
won't that void your warranty with CBRD...

or are you in the school of thought..."what warranty...what's that?"

Built 2L, S2's, stock intake manifold etc.

Wow Geoffs pre 5krpm power looks like it's trying to spool a brick... Even mivec wont make that diff up...

I use epoxy to make runners smaller on intake manifold. years of alky injection and gas stains later its still in place quite nicely.

rc guys use epoxy to fill ports on two stroke cylinder. we're talking cylinder wall where rings ride.

According to certain video I saw comparing bullet surge ports to other style ie garrett, the bullet style is inferior: what I mean to say is if that is so I would not expect a detectable gain in spool. I will be ordering my next turbo sans surge port aswell however. I have an fp 84mm intake that I wonder how hard it is missing from that. Didn't er test this to find hit in spool and increase in top end?

Why doesn't anyone clip a wheel any more? It would seem that if you're above the boost threshold that it would be minimal penalty to response.

the efr stuff appears to be a gold standard of sorts but a) cost is substantially higher b) can't get your hands on them at all. C) not likely to fit a Garett kit due to packaging.

I would have never guessed. So JB Weld is the best?

Warranty, what's that? You described my mindset exactly. Especially with turbos. I absolutely ring the **** out of the little buggers. I like extremely high levels of spring preload which equates to consistently high turbocharger shaft speeds. My motto: "It can NEVER spool too fast!"

I settled for a used 3B purchased from Chad. I originally wanted a BB BBK-Full, but I didn't have the spare change to order a new one. Being used I didn't bother to ask about a warranty. It seems to have a bit much shaft play....so we'll see how long she lasts.

I am not afraid of the JB Weld on aluminum either. My buddy bought a set of used Champion aluminum heads for his Buick GN. We discovered that one of the milled head gasket mating surfaces on the head had a low spot on it. It was about .250" low in one corner. He built it up with JB Weld and milled it down flat. He ran a 10.2 at 32 PSI at Sacramento with it no problem.
