ATP GTX3076R vs CBRD BBK-B BB
How do these 2 turbos fair against one another in everything that matters? Assuming same boost level.
On Buschur 2.3L RPM, I was able to get 457whp/390wtq @27.4psi on MD (~230whp stock car same dyno) with the BBK-B BB. @25psi 428whp/360wtq. Of course all of this is on E85.
I know that the hotside on the ATP GTX3076R is bigger than the BBK-B, which leads to less backpressure, which leads to less heat generated, which makes the exhaust valve, the head, and everything happy. So GTX gets the nod in heat management. The turbo will be a direct replacement turbo. So won't be running any fancy downpipes/tubular manifolds or anything like that.

Peak power? Taper?
Peak torque? Taper?
Usable Powerband?
Compressor wheel size?
etc...
I think the GTX3076R is a 63-64lb/min wheel. The BBK-B is a 57-58lb/min wheel with 57mm inducer size. Not sure what the inducer size for GTX3076R is.
Anyone have dynosheets they can share?
I am hoping i can be around 25psi at 430whp. Doable? I will also have added Maperformance REV3 Ported Intake Manifold and Mil.Spec 65mm T.B., which the previous dyno numbers i stated did not have. They were oem. I also hope the area under the curve is improved as well.
For hardcore track purposes, I don't think I should go higher than 25psi.

On track I am 90% in 3rd and 4th above 4000-4500 rpms minus your occasional slow/hairpin type corner. And spends most of the time above 5000-5500 rpms on track up to 7800-8000rpms for 10-15mins a session.

Here it is at 25psi on E85.
428whp/362wtq @25psi
Around 6400rpms, whp levels out. Boost tapers to 22psi at redline.
Around 3800-6500rpms, torque remains pretty level/flat around 350wtq.
Here it is at 27.4psi on E85.

Here is how it performed on track on 255/40/17 RS3 street tires. Also my chassis splitter was not installed for this event. Track was green as it rained the day before. I was up against 2 GTRs and 1 Lamborghini on R-Comps. Took home 1st.
Ran with a cracked head at the ports with pushing coolant to the block because of it. But it ran and felt fine. I ran on my low boost map in the video making 428whp and 25psi.

I am curious as to whether you have been logging EGT's at the track on your car with the 3B? The ATP turbo may have a larger turbine wheel, but in the past they were always known for having a restrictive turbine housing design. Maybe the ATP GTX 3076 has an improved flowing casting design though.

Yea and i only did session 1 (3 laps) and session 2 (1 lap). 4 hot laps total. Then I had to sit out cuz of my issues. I was ****ting bricks waiting, hoping my time will hold up. I see them slowly dropping time, but not enough to catch me. haha. Win!
EGTs were around 1300-1400F or so. Can't be sure exactly.

I was having the discussion with another person in the Bay Area as I was looking at the bbk-b since my full just blew.
I think oiling is a huge issue for road racing. I think the bbk b is great but can still get starved due to lower oil pressure in the head.
I have a fp green on the way with the required oil filter housing feed line. ATP was a close second and if this one fries I will go with the ATP for a couple reasons.
Cooling is a big thing, as well as less back pressure over any stock frame turbo.
One things I've found while researching atps stock location turbos is that they can run at higher boost with ease without the risks with a stock frame bbk such just blowing hot air.
Also if anything goes wrong atp is around the corner in Hayward.
If I bought one I would need to find out what restrictor it will need since I would want to feed it oil from the oil filter housing for sure.
You will also have a small increase in lag.

Sorry no info on the 3076 but I do run the ATP GTX3071R on E85. My current numbers are 501HP@6800RPM and 427TQ@5600RPM. Pretty sure boost is around 30PSI. I would post a pic of the Dynosheet but it's just a VD printout. Probably closer to Dynojet numbers anyway. Also it doesn't really start to ramp up in power until about 4K RPM. I did some research and there isn't much out there on the ATP stuff. Most people don't care for them but I just wanted something a little different. Good luck on finding the information your looking for.

This maybe a little off-topic but I would try contacting honda-guy. He had the ATP GTX3076R on his track evo but eventually switched it out for a FP HTA Green. He thought the turbo was laggy. He may provide you with some good insight on the turbo. I think he was also on a 2.3L.

Well, the old ATP design was a nightmare in terms of lag.
The newest ATP design, with the Internal WG didn't fair to much better than the old design. So, basically, still major lag when compared to a standard T3 GT30 turbo with an External WG.
