Need help! Almost done with build evo 9

Hi guys, I recently just got my head back from the machine shop. I'm installing S2 cams and the dual valve spring kit from super tech. As I proceeded to put my car back together, I noticed a bracket that I forgot to install. It happens to be the rear metal timing cover bracket that's located near the alternator. Luckily I was able to put Install the other metal rear timing cover on the exhaust manifold side. But my question is how important is that metal timing cover on the alternator side? I really don't want to remove all the accessories, pulleys, plastics timing cover, timing belt, and the intake cam gear, just to be able to install that metal cover if it isn't really that important. I'm just frustrated that I made such a stupid mistake.

shields the timing cover and belt area.. dont think it actually does anything, like the front one holds the 02 wire in place so it doesnt hang, but the rear is just a cover between the cam area and the plastic cam cover..

Would it keep a dry cracked plastic cover bits from falling into the timing belt? I had that happen.

How probable is it that debris/ rocks get tossed all the way up there in the back?

Recommend you install it but I doubt it's necessary.

Ended up installing it. Pain in the ***, got really lucky that I didn't have to remove the T-belt and cam gear again. Didn't want to take the chances of driving through construction and possibly throwing a pebble in there
