Evo 8 block bad need advice
I have a 660whp built 2.0 05 evo 8 that has a scored a .040 over block bad enough to either need a sleeve or need a new block and a piston set. I'm wondering what all blocks I can replace mine with or if I should get a 4g64 block and crank and build a stroker using my existing Manley rods since the Pistons are junk anyways? 67 mm turbo just looking to make 600. Looking for my cheapest route and easy route out crank also needs to be turned .010 but the existing Manley rods are good they are 5.900 long

It seems like there is a lot of conversion work to do a 4g64 with different timing **** and all that I don't wanna mess anything up as my local machine shop is not familiar with 4G motors so I might be stuck with finding an evo 8 or 9 block

You can still go more over on your block. You can go 86.5mm and even 87mm bore. I used my stock block all the way up to 87mm bore with no issues until the fuel pump went causing it to run lean and melt down. I was making 500 on pump and 575 on e85 on the 87mm bore.
86.50mm (+.060" Overbore)
87.00mm (+.080" Overbore)
If you want a new block you can get a 4g64 for cheap at the junk yard. They are roughly 125 by me.
