Crank or cam sensor causing this problem??

Crank or cam sensor causing this problem??

My 03 threw the p0335, no crankshaft reference signal at efi ecu. My car starts and runs at a higher rpm than normal at cold start. After about 5 minutes of idling at a higher rpm it starts to misfire and dies out. It won't start up after a warm up. I read up that if it's the crank, my car won't start and I won't have fuel and spark at all. So that leads me to thinking it's not my crank sensor. Why would my car run fine at a cold start but a higher rpm but throw that code? Is it my cam sensor? It's a built motor on speed density.

It could be a bad sensor that has a thermal break. When it gets hot it stops working properly, cools down and works ok again. Happens alot with electronics.
