Nah its definitely neither of those. Its dripping down the back of my block. When I started pushing coolant a few months back I figured my oil leak was from the headgasket as well but unfortunately Im still losing oil. I've replaced parts replaced gaskets removed bolts and added thread sealant and have still not gotten to the bottom of it. Its been almost 2 years now so I just keep a close eye on my fluids and always make sure its topped off.

Had such a fun time with coolant leaks yesterday. Still had a little coolant hitting the uicp so I went ahead and replaced the clamps on the turbo lines with worm clamps. Installed fmic and went tuning. 2nd pull, windshield full of coolant. Limp it back home. Heater core hose is cut! Replace both hoses. More tuning....puff, more coolant. Back home. Turbo coolant line is busted. Replaced with some I had laying around and the only clamps I had that would fit were spring clamps. So far so good. But I haven't tried too hard yet, only to dinner with the fam.

Gah! Big event next weekend by the border!

Wowzers that sounds like an absolute blast!!! Yesterday's autox went without a single hickup on my end, well aside from my typical cone rampage. No blown intercooler piping, my new brake pads felt amazing and I am still not seeing a drop of coolant.

It is crazy that all of your coolant lines are failing all at once. Its no secret that the rubber lines deteriorate over time so for you now is that time it seems. While using worm clamps may help as you can torque them down more its almost as if its a band aid fix to the problem which is the hose itself. It may buy you some time as it will no longer leak at the union but the hose will eventually become so brittle that it'll explode or tear.

I should probably go around and replace all of my coolant lines now as a good preventive measure. We shall see. At least for now Im happy to say that this case is closed on my end. I wish you luck attacking the rest of your pesky coolant leaks.

Turbo line #2 busted today. 3 hoses in 3 days. 2 of which I am blaming the worm clamps and I prob overtightened. New hoses all around and "good" worm clamps tomorrow.

Booooooo. Lol

Looks like it would be the thermostat because it's right next to it but it seems perfectly fine. Would check that for sure.

Tunah that sucks bud...I told you replace all of your coolant hoses!!! I think the worm clamps may help but at the end of the day they arent going to fix tired brittle rubber hoses.

Im going to order all new coolant hoses shortly so I wont be in your shoes soon! There was a set of Samco radiator hoses on here that I also just scooped up...bc, you know car modzzzz!!!!

But on a serious note that is absolutely crazy that you are killing so many of your hoses. If you didn't recently replace your headgasket I'd wonder if you were pressurizing your cooling system which is causing them to burst rather than just being old and brittle?

Silver- Thank you and thanks for your help as well. Im contemplating starting a new thread about my oil leak. But with so many oil leak threads on this forum already and no ability to snap a good photo like in this case Im not sure how effective it'll be...

I did feel a little oil on my UICP last night which I found to be interesting. I need to replace my valve cover gasket again for like the 10th time as I know that oil is seeping out a little right now. I've got a new one sitting on my work bench but I just need a few minutes to swap it. But given that Im adding a quart between changes there is no way its all coming from my valve cover. Fixing this coolant leak was cake thanks to everyone's help. If only my stupid oil leak was the same story...keep an eye out for my new thread lol!

I know he replaced the HG but I'm wondering this same thing. It was pressurizing the coolant system before the HG, correct? It's definitely weird that they're all rupturing at the same time.

Yeah you never know. I mean our cars are getting old so they've gone through what 9 years of abuse now. But for them to fail at basically the same exact time might mean there is something else going on.

Oh and Kevin, in case you didnt see my update you were spot on! Let me know if you're ever headed up to MA I owe you a or two or twelve

Well...I figure only one of the hoses actually failed by itself. All 4 (heater and turbo) were original, 125k miles, 9 years old.

I removed and reinstalled the turbo lines w/ original clamps with the turbo swap last spring. I had seepage then, just wasnt exactly sure where it was coming from. I removed and reinstalled them with the HG. Seepage got a little better, but still present. For peace of mind, I replaced the clamps and Im pretty sure that killed the turbo hoses. Both of them were split at the clamp. The heater hose had ballooned out and split. Just from being old? Im leaning towards the leaky hoses being the cause of some of the other coolant issues I had earlier that led me to replace the HG. I typically replace EVERYTHING I come across like this when doing work on it. My wife even asked why I didnt like I usually do. I just told her I was keeping the mod expense down.

I gave her hell this morning and she's dry as a bone. More tuning planned tonight and we'll see if it stays dry.

^BAH Thanks nonsense!!! I will replace them when I want to!!!

I need to order the two heater hoses and the coolant return line. At least they are cheap and easy to swap. It just sucks draining coolant then refilling burping the system and all that noise. I think I've bled my coolant system like 7 times this year...thank god I picked up a Lisle spill free funnel a few years back, that thing rocks

How are you bleeding/burping the coolant? Ive typically filled the radiator, start the car, the level drops and I fill it back up and thats all she takes. That equates to maybe a quart more. Is your experience any different? Ive had other cars that took forever to burp, this one seems to do it very quickly.

Pick up one of these:
Amazon.com: Lisle 24680 Spill-Free Funnel: Automotive Amazon.com: Lisle 24680 Spill-Free Funnel: Automotive

It couldnt be any easier with that. Screw it on fill it up turn on your heater and let the fan cycle on and off a few times. The funnel enables you to not have to worry about adding extra and when it bubbles it doesnt make a mess as its all contained.
