AEM? DynoFlash?

I am sorry to bring a topic like that but I am really really confused at the moment... and believe me search buttons didn't work for me this time!

I got my turbo installed 2 weeks ago...
It is a Garret t04 with upgraded intercooler, 650cc injectors, fuel pump. I have the stage REV which removes the fuel cut.

I am using the S-AFCII for now... but I am really thinking for an uprade but don't wanna spend too much $$$... at least for a while.

AEM is my second choice but I really wanted what people think about it when it comes to dynoflash.

Should I let Al dynoflash the car for my new turbo (custom flash on dyno) or just get the AEM?

What is the cons/pros of getting the AEM or Dynoflash over the other one?

Al is coming to MD/DC/VA area in a week or so.. but I am still very confused about which one I should go with?

go with the one which your tuner feels most comfortable with.

Only reason I chose the aem is because of your setup. The EMS would be better suited for your aplication because of the turbo upgrade pulling large amounts of air through the factory mass air.

I didn't vote because I don't think you've given enough information. It's all going to depend on what your final goals and budget are. If you're going to do more modifications and have the cash the AEM might be a wise choice. If not, you could talk to Al and see if he thinks the reflash is suitable for your goals.

my goals are between 450whp to 500whp
I won't be doing further modifications after that because 450-500 would be enough for me..

if you are going with the EMS , do you have some one near by that knows how to tune it ??
Also are you on a budget or tuning the EMS and dont have a limitation to how much time you are willing to spend on the dyno ??
Do you plan on keeping your stock MAF (airflow sensor) or removing it ??
At least for my area going with the EMS was around 2500.00 tune . (keeping the MAF )
1400.00 for the unit (with out UEGO) and unless you plan to tune it yourself i see no point on getting the UEGO. Since you should have someone with the access to an 02 band reading with a dyno
950.00 on tuning
80.00 on sensors (keeping your MAF )
If you decide to remove it , then additional sensors are required and will bump the price .
How far do you plan on modding the car ??

if you're planning on putting serious power out, then i would recommend the aem ems with the wideband o2 sensor, and the speed density conversion.

we've done several of these setups on still stock turbo evos (many, many more ems's on other cars) and have seen pretty impressive gains along with perfect drivability. and the best part is, it's always retunable for new parts. has built in datalogging so that a tuner elsewhere can adjust the maps without having the car just by reading the logs.

it is, however, a costly mod. pre-price increase:

aem ems w/ uego - 1700
3.5bar map sensor - 125
iat sensor - 50
labor for wiring it all up - 90
tuning - 600

so stil adds up to a bit over $2500, but this is w/ speed density conversion that gets rid of your restrictive mass air sensor.

if you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a pm or email. we're in raleigh, 4-5 hours from arlington.

Holly crap! I got my AEM EMS from Bushur Racing with the UEGO and tuned with the extra sensors to convert to speed density and it cost me $2300! It cost $200 more in your area without the UEGO and keeping the MAF? Damn!

I would get the UEGO even if you don't plan on doing your own tunning because you can use it for very accureate O2 feedback control of your A/F ratio.

For Memo3 I am not sure though, I think Al made the power level you are looking for with the MAF and the dynoflash, so if that is your HP goal I would go with his flash.... lot less hassle than a stand alone.... even a "plug and play" stand alone

I voted for AEM, because you don't want to keep the MAF, but remember, you have to put your stock ECU back if you want to pass emissions

just a side note, I think Al can tune the AEM too if you don't want your local shop to do it
