Max HP Greddy Type-V (24V) I/C can handle

Wussup people,

I really really need to know the max HP the Greddy Type-V Intercooler can handle. I'm shooting for 400-415whp and I want to know if it can handle the power without heat soaking. PLEASE HELP ME!!

I'm pretty sure its this I/C:
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/e...ntercooler.htm

Can anyone verify if thats the Type-V (24V) in that picture?

Thanks in advance

It's kinda mess up when greddy release their IC without any kind of performance information. I'm looking at this IC too, it's so nice and most importantly, cheap!!! Prostreetonline.com has it for 650 shipped guys. That is one hell of a deal!!!

OK I called greddy (da source) and asked them. They told me that the intercooler road race is using can support 500+ whp without a problem. The question is if that intercooler is the same as the one poststreetonline is selling or the one I have sitting on my floor. I'm gonna call RR later today to see which one they are running. The guy at greddy said that they only offer 1 in this county which was designed to fit the EVO 7 but with some tooling fits the 8. I've seen the Type-V (24V) install on an evo 8 while retaining the crash bar and without any fitmet problems. Lets hope RR is using this I/C.

Also, I asked about the ****ty spool for people using the Profec Spec B-II. He said there is NOTHING they can do about that because of the high psi the evo's come with from the factory. The high psi is messing with the system so it spools slower (WTF). So basically if you want a faster spool DON'T get the Profec Spec B-II.

I thought mine spooled quick too but thats before I saw my dyno curve. Have you gotten dyno'ed? If not do it and then tell me if it still spools fast.

OK. I called Road Race and they have confirmed that they are using the Type-V intercooler on their car making over 500whp. The I/C fits without any mods. The type-R intercooler is the one being ran on the Boost Solutions car. If you look at it you can tell major modification is needed to make it fit. I even spoke to Boost-Solutions to verify this info. If you have more questions call Road Race up at:

(562) 777-1522

So I will be installing my I/C and the answer to my question is that the Type-V can handle in upwards of 500whp. What are you people waiting for? Go get those I/C's

V types are similar to R types except for the internal construction.. I know R types can handle 7-800 hp without any problems and i'm pretty sure the V-specs can handle up to 500hp.. it depends on the ambient temperatures where u live.. R specs are better in tropical and equatorial areas where ambient temperatures are much higher and there is a higher need to lose heat asap within the core.. i think you shouldnt have this problem... also, the R-spec cores are better suited for high PSIs.. 1.4 bars above... where air moves fast....
