if A high flow cat flows almost 600cfm, how much does a cat delete flow?

Hm, so far I've managed to find this thread. It was for a 2.5" random tech. Wonder how it would look like with a 3" he promised to test

I think it depends on where you are starting from. With a stock trubo the restriction would probably be less noticeable than with a turbo that pushed more volume. I think Vishnu found removing the cat to be worth about 30(?) HP on a heavily modified car with cams plus a bigger turbo.

But on a more reasonable set up (stock turbo, full exhaust, cams, etc,.) removing a free flow cat and sticking in a test pipe usually yeilds about 15whp and 15-20lb-ft of torque. Or at least this has been the trend. Cat delete/test pipes make power, no doubt. If only they weren't so stinky and illegal ($2000 on the spot fine here on the west coast!).

be sure to take picturs of the exhaust and delete pipe. I've been debating on modding my Evo or just leaving it stock... I don't need a modded car right now just a reliable one that is fun to drive. But i would like to add an exhaust just to help out on the feel of the car and looks.
How well do the simulators or race pipes promissing no MIL work? Shivs your thoughts and opinions on someone looking to mildly mod the evo as fax as the cat aspects.
