Question Evo V clutch swap concerns

gentleman I am a new member to this site so please forgive my noobness
I have been searching threw thread after thread trying to search out my answers to my problems, i feel as if im getting close to finding all the info I require but time is beginning to press. I have to use a friends lift for the job and running into any major problems where leaving the car on there to order things is not much of an option so I would like to sus out as many as I can before my attempts are made and I have a limited amount of time left with access to his shop. So getting right to it...
A few months back now I imported my 98 lancer evo 5 cp9a mostly stock few minor upgrades include greddy coilovers, catback exhaust, turbo timer, greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller currently running 20 pounds of boost, etc etc

car ran great for about a month and a half. After smashing a few mustangs at the lights I got the 5th gear wot clutch slip of death. No biggy went on RTMRACING.COM located up here in canada. they were very helpful and quick to get me sorted out. 5 days later i have my hands on a new pressure plate, clutch, flywheel, tob, new flywheel bolts, PP bolts, new rear main seal and seals for the transfer case, new timing belt balance belt, rev 3 lifters, s90 70mm throttlebody, and an aem afr gauge. its bloddy Christmas woot.

I will post the pics of the PP, Clutch, and Flywheel.
the problem im having now is upon opening up the fidanza flywheel and inspecting the supplied flywheel bolts, just setting the bolts into the flywheel and looking out the crank side of the flywheel I am greeted with all 12mm of threads showing plus an additional 3 mm of no threads

additional information
the clutch , PP , and flywheel are all for evo 789 but after much research on here a small removal of a dowel on the crank should be no problems. i will also post a pic showing what seals I got for the t case.

the flywheel bolts.. I tried to order the extra long flywheel bolts they have available on rtmracing but they insisted that the flywheel had recessed holes and I would have way to long a bolt. so they sent me oem flywheel bolts and after much reading on here I have learned that evo 8/9 fw bolts are 15.2mm 04-07 lancer 19.5mm 92-99 7 bolt 4g63 are 21.2 and 89-92 6 bolt 4g63 are 22.5mm
the ones I received are 21.15mm so im assuming i have oem 92-99 7 bolt 4g63 fw bolts 12mm shank diameter on the threads and a 1.25 pitch.

so question number 1
where the flywheel attaches to the crank. is there a small recess into the threads to accommodate my 3mm area of no threads because if not logic would say i will hit the end of the threads before tightening the flywheel to the crank.

any and all input here is welcome hopefully someone on here has made the same 789 act clutch and fidanza fw swap into a 456 and might chime in what solution they had with the fw bolts or specifically what ones they used.

i realize all this could be sorted out by pulling out the clutch and having a look but i dont own the lift the car will be placed on during the job.

attached pictures are as follows
pic1 PP
pic2 Clutch
pic3 TOB
pic4 Flywheel showing recessed fw bolt holes part number 161921 code mit10
pic5 flywheel bolts
only a max of 5 pics allowed i will post more below showing the dilemma

the rest of the pics
pic 1 depth of flywheel from inside recess to back of flywheel
pic 2 the potential problem with mounting flywheel 3mm of no threads 12mm of threads
pic 3 the length the fw bolts sticking out the back when pushed flush into flywheel
pic 4 the 12mm of threads total not including the unthreaded area
pic 5 showing the seals i purchased for the job
30146
30289p
30384
30289s i didnt get but from reading should most likely be in good shape
30145p also didnt get was under the impression i could leave this attached and just swing transfer case over and tie up to the passenger side of car

another seal i got was the rear main seal part number md359158 crank seal

any input on other seals i might want would also be helpfull thanks again

Hey, I'm also from Canada and threw in a Competition Clutch and flywheel into my VI. I had got ARP 92-99 4G63 flywheel bolts for mine and I can tell you for certain that they were WAY too long to fit, like not even close, so I was forced to use the old flywheel bolts which seemed to work just fine, but was definately not ideal. As for your situation I can't say for sure if the bolt holes were recessed for that small unthreaded portion or not, I just can't remember and didn't notice.

I will say that I didn't have to cut a dowel at all, I think that might just be an Evo 4 problem, not a 5/6 one.

Other issues I encountered, TOB was too tight on shaft, had to reem it out with sandpaper. Clutch disk slid about 3/4 of the way down the tranny shaft, would be ideal to have a file on hand and just lightly file out the clutch splines to let it slide easily.

Do you have a M8 rod or some type of slide hammer or equivalent for getting the halfshafts out?

I wasn't able to do the rear main seal on my car since I had a jack holding the engine under the oilpan since it's only on 1 mount. If you have any questions PM me and I can give you my phone number if you'd like.

Good Luck!
