Help: Sudden oil pressure loss, oil light on, crap idle

Backstory: The car gets driven a dozen miles a month and that's about it. It's a 03 with 100k miles on it. I replaced a leaking valve cover gasket 7 days ago and replaced the alternator 2 days ago (props to the guy who wrote the replacing your alternator from the top thread!)

Car has had the 60k done and got new serpentine 10k ago. New oil in the pan from 2 months back. Intake and exhaust, no other engine mods.

Car started up fine and had constant oil pressure reading on the gauge after both replacements, drove around the block and was fine.

Took car out the next day after replacing the alternator to get it inspected, pulled into the station a mile away and saw the oil pressure read 0. Idle was very rough and very very low (300). Shut her off, checked for any kind of fluid leaks and found nothing. No hole in the block, no trail of black behind the car. Checked dip stick, level read more than when i started out, seems like all the oil has settled out of the block into the pan.

Started car away, same issue, rough low idle, no pressure, idled at 300-400rpm for 3 seconds and died, oil light came on. Got it towed back to my driveway.

Check this morning, still has oil, no leaks anywhere. Any ideas?? All the belts are on and in the correct positions. Clog in oil line?? Oil pump suddenly died?

Any help would be great, Thanks

Do not run your car any more if you really have Zero pressure.
Are you sure your sender is good?

you have a gauge and the oil light, if both read zero and the rpm is low? You pump probably died, and maybe is grinding itself apart thus causing the low idle issue. Dang 300 rpm? My car barely runs at 900 rpm lol

Yeah I had it towed back and that's been it. I was thinking the pump as shot too. What a pain. Yeah 300 rpm was like depressing to watch on the tach not to mention hear haha.

... sorry lol. I would say take timing belt off and see if the pump is difficult to spin by hand.
